What it does

Viewgum measures the colour of the pixels of the gum and computes the circular standard deviation of the hue component (see Directional Statistics and Hue). The larger this is, the more un-mixed the two colours are.

Notes

Viewgum is freeware. No user support is provided, but do not hesitate to email for assistance. Any comments, bug reports or suggestions for improvements are welcome.

Update: Orophys has been liquidated and is no longer operational, but interested researchers can contact Prof. Martin Schimmel at the Department of Reconstructive Dentistry and Gerodontology, University of Bern.
